Spring Break Hiatus

Yes it's close enough to spring and the spring break I get at my day job for me to consider taking a spring break hiatus from the blog. While you won't see any new posts for the next few days, possibly even weeks, that doesn't mean that I won't be diligently working on new material.

We still have the continuation of the Hidden Hair Threat coming down the pipeline.  Also there will be interviews and makeover photos. We simply need some time to get these events and ideas fully formed and typed to be posted.

Authentic Me's Sister Circles

This past Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending one of Authentic Me's Sister Circles. One of my coworkers informed me about the one she attended in April and immediately I knew I had to go to the next one. From her description, the event was exactly what I had been wanting to find. Women coming together not to gossip and tear down but to inspire and uplift one another.



Well the May event did not disappoint. The topic was Men but no fellas it was not an all-night hatefest. It was a discussion of how each person determines the relationships that they have. This is something that I'm a firm believer in. A woman who feels that her man is unattentive, neglectful or even, dare I say, abusive is only in that situation because she allows it to exist. A person can only treat you the way you allow them to treat you.

We also discussed how fear keeps you from taking a risk or making a necessary change in your life.
